Ingredients

  • 2 apples peeled and cored (see Notes section below for substitution)
  • ¾ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • ½ cup nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup (see Notes section below for substitution)
  • 1 ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ginger
  • pinch allspice
  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups ice or more to reach desired consistency

Optional Toppings

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients to a high powered blender and process until smooth. Add more ice if you'd like a thicker consistency or a little less if you'd like a thinner consistency. Divide between two 8-ounce cups.
  • Top with your choice of crushed gingersnap cookies mixed with graham cracker crumbs, whipped cream, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or all three if you really want a special treat!

Notes

Nutrition information was calculated based on recipe without substitutions or optional toppings.
Variations and Substitutions
  • Adding a scoop of vanilla protein powder ( we love Vega brand) will give you more protein and vanilla flavor!
  • If you really want to sweeten it up, try adding a pump of caramel syrup for a caramel apple pie smoothie!
  • If you don't have apples on hand, we have made this smoothie with regular unsweetened almond milk and applesauce.
  • If you don’t have maple syrup, you can use the same amount of honey.
Storage Tips
Once blended with the ice, this smoothie is best if you drink it right away. If you want to plan ahead, you can make it the night, before leaving out the ice, and store it in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning, just remove and shake up adding ice if you want an iced drink.
