Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese 2% or full fat
  • ½ cup sour cream light or regular
  • ½ lemon juiced about 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped dill weed or 1 teaspoon dried dill weed, plus additional for garnish
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt or to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Optional Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons finely diced red bell pepper divided
  • 3 tablespoons finely diced green bell pepper divided
  • cup frozen corn thawed and drained well

Instructions

  • Add the cottage cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with a little additional dill. It's delicious right away or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Serve with crackers and assorted vegetables like baby carrots, celery sticks, sugar snap peas, mini bell peppers, jicama sticks, sliced cucumber, etc.

Peppers and Corn Variation

  • If using the veggies, stir in 2 tablespoons of each color of bell pepper and ¼ cup corn. Garnish with the reserved bell pepper (1 tablespoon of each).

Notes

Refrigerate Store any leftover cottage cheese dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for up to 3 days.
Make Ahead: This dip is great for making ahead! Prepare it a day in advance and let the flavors meld in the fridge before serving. If you’re added fresh veggies, keep them in a separate container and stir them into the dip right before serving to maintain their crunch.
