I’m constantly looking for new ways to incorporate more seafood, especially heart healthy salmon, in my menus. I found out just how easy it is to create healthier, air fried fish when I made Air Fryer Fish Sticks and it didn’t take long for me to take it to the next level with these crispy Air Fryer Salmon Sandwiches.
These tasty little breaded salmon sandwiches are loaded with high quality protein and potassium and are low in calories and saturated fat.

Crispy Breaded Air Fryer Salmon Fillets
The air fryer method creates a super crispy exterior while the interior of the salmon remains tender and flaky. These crispy salmon fillets would be delicious on their own but I couldn’t resist piling them on toasted hamburger buns smeared with a flavorful, lightened up Sriracha aioli for a fun and easy dinner.

Ingredient Notes

For the Crispy Breaded Salmon
- Plain panko breadcrumbs
- Old Bay Seasoning – This seasoning blend is a quick and easy way to add classic flavor to seafood.
- Dried parsley flakes
- Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Plain Greek yogurt – I use 2%.
- Skinless salmon fillets – You’ll need 4 fillets that are about 8-ounces each. For sandwiches, it’s best to use salmon that is no more than 1-inch thick.
- Nonstick cooking spray – When air frying, always use a propellant-free nonstick spray like Chosen Avocado Oil Spray.
For the Lightened Up Sriracha Aioli
- Mayonnaise – Use your favorite healthy fat mayo. I like olive oil mayonnaise for this.
- Plain Greek yogurt
- Sriracha
- Fresh lime juice
- Salt
For the Sandwiches
- Small hamburger buns
- Baby greens
- Red onion – Thinly sliced.

How to Make Air Fryer Salmon Sandwiches

- Brush all sides of the salmon with Greek yogurt, including the edges, then dredge it in the breadcrumb mixture, patting it on to the surface of the salmon with your hands.
- Transfer the breaded salmon to a large piece of foil or a clean cutting board. Repeat with remaining pieces of salmon.
- Spritz the preheated air fryer basket with oil and add 4 pieces of breaded salmon. Spritz the tops of the salmon with oil and cook at 380 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping after 6 minutes. Cook until the salmon reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degree F when measured with an instant read thermometer in the thickest piece. Transfer the cooked salmon to the foil-lined baking sheet and place in the oven to keep warm while you repeat with remaining 4 pieces.
- Serve the salmon on the toasted buns with the Sriracha aioli, a little red onion, and greens.
To keep the first batch of salmon fillets warm, place them on a baking sheet and transfer them to a 200 degree F oven while you air fry the second batch.
