These Air Fryer Tortilla Chips are SO easy to make with just three simple ingredients! They are the perfect guilt-free compliment to guacamole and fresh salsa.

We all know how delicious and addictive traditional deep-fried tortilla chips can be. If you sit down in front of a bowl of chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant, they are just impossible to resist. As delicious as they are, the deep-fried variety is typically loaded with fat and excessive sodium.
My solution? I love making my own tortilla chips at home in my air fryer! They have the perfect, satisfying crunch and they are a lighter healthier option that allows me to enjoy this treat while still maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Your air fryer is capable of transforming corn tortillas and a small amount of olive oil into a low calorie, low sodium snack.
Ingredients

- I used gluten-free yellow corn tortillas. You could also use white or blue corn tortillas if you prefer.
Tips for Keeping it Light and Healthy
If you read package labels, you’ll see that the store-bought tortilla chips can be loaded with fat and sodium. When you make them yourself, you are in control of the method you use, the ingredients you choose, and how much salt you use.
- The air fryer method uses a fraction of the oil of traditional deep fry methods.
- Consider using blue corn tortillas as they contain double the nutrients and minerals of yellow corn tortillas.
- Use gluten-free tortillas for gluten-free chips.
- Try the chips unsalted, especially if you are serving them with a really flavorful salsa or guacamole!
- Watch your portion size.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1. Preheat the Air Fryer
- Preheat your Air Fryer to 350 degrees F.

Step 2. Prepare the Tortillas
- Brush tortillas on both sides with olive oil.

- Sprinkle tortillas lightly with salt on both sides.
- Using a pizza cutter, cut the tortillas into 8 even wedges.

Step 3. Cook and Serve
- Once your air fryer is preheated, place the tortilla wedges on the tray in a single layer (no overlapping).
- Cook for 4 to 7 minutes. My chips were perfectly crisp after 5 minutes but this time can vary depending on the crispiness you desire.
- Place the cooked chips on a cooling rack and continue to batch cook the remaining tortillas.
- Enjoy with homemade guacamole and salsa and light sour cream!
Tips for Success
- When deciding how long to cook your tortilla chips keep in mind they continue to crisp as they cool.
- You can stack your tortillas to cut them but they sometimes slip, so if you want a perfect shape cut them individually.

Storing Tortilla Chips
Store completely cooled chips in an airtight container for up to 5 days. I prefer them fresh but if you are meal prepping you absolutely can make them ahead for snacks during the week.
